[Gifu / Mino City Travel] Mino Washi Hands-on Experience in the Udatsu Historic Streets | Disney Washi Korokoro Nearly Sold Out (Great Stop for Japan Group Tours)
Thank you as always for reading!
[As of March 2, 2026] Google Reviews: 5.0 / 1,206 reviews (and counting)
*At last… our review rating has reached 5.0 (celebration!)
Did you watch the Olympic snowboarding events? Big Air and Slopestyle were truly incredible!
The more I watched, the more my “I want to go ride” feeling grew—so I finally made some progress on my gear.
Right during a special campaign, I picked up the boots I’d been wanting at a great price.
Then someone told me, “It’s fun to compare boards at a demo event,” so I signed up… but right before the date I came down with a cold (sigh).
Even with the gear ready, I’ve only gone once this season. Spring is coming, and the slopes are starting to get crowded.
“Ah, I want that refreshing escape one more time…”—my mind is already sliding ahead of me!
Now, this week’s workshop highlights are packed with top recommended experiences for Mino City sightseeing—perfect for Japan travel itineraries and group tour planning.
Disney Washi Korokoro is almost sold out, we’re previewing new Korokoro items for Golden Week (GW), and our Boys’ Day displays are fully stocked too!
━…━…━…━…━…━…━…━…━…━…━
Our shop is a hands-on studio where you can enjoy Mino Washi by “touching, choosing, and creating.”
While experiencing the charm and tradition of Mino Washi, you can make one-of-a-kind dolls and Japanese souvenirs (wagashi-style crafts, paper goods, and more) that are truly unique in the world.
From the gentle texture of washi paper, the fun of choosing colors and patterns, to the joy of shaping your own creativity—this is a sensory Japanese culture experience ideal for Japan inbound travel, cultural tours, and Japan group tours.
Our workshop is located in the heart of Mino, inside the historic “Udatsu no Agaru Machinami” district—one of the best places for Mino City sightseeing in Gifu Prefecture.
You can craft inside an Edo-period building with an “udatsu” from 1760, a designated property within a nationally selected Important Preservation District for Groups of Traditional Buildings—an experience that’s sightseeing in itself.
We can accommodate from solo travelers up to a maximum of 50 guests at the same time (about one tour bus).
For groups larger than 50, we recommend splitting into a “Mino town walk & shopping” team and an “experience” team for a smooth schedule—perfect for tour operators and travel agencies designing efficient itineraries.
Couples, friends, families, group tours, educational trips, and company trips (incentives/MICE)—everyone can share a fun moment together.
Experience menus include Washi Korokoro, washi uchiwa fans, washi earrings, washi plates, washi pen holders, washi bookmarks, and more.
You can follow the sample exactly—totally fine.
You can also arrange it with your own intuition—also fine.
Or you can create it in the style of your favorite vibe or character—absolutely welcome.
Why not make your own one-of-a-kind souvenir from Japan?
We offer 30+ kit designs—surely you’ll find something you “want to make.”
Please check our business calendar and come visit. We look forward to welcoming you.
For reservations of 10 guests or more, we can accommodate even outside regular business hours.Please consult us!

This week’s workshop update: New Golden Week (GW) items coming soon!
━…━…━…━…━…━…━…━…━…━…━
We are currently developing new products for a Golden Week (GW) release.
New Washi Korokoro “summer animals” are almost ready—both finished products and DIY kits will be completed very soon.
Just look at this cuteness.
Our sales team member Yamashita handled the design from scratch for the first time.
Not only the product styling, but also the kit instructions are carefully written to be easy for first-timers—great for tour groups, families, and educational travel too.
A new trio is joining the Ishikawa Paper Goods Ltd. Washi Korokoro series:
“Penguin,” “Polar Bear,” and “Whale Shark.”
Please come make them at Ishikawa Mino Washi Paper Goods Workshop—an easy-to-schedule Japan cultural activity for group tour itineraries.

Sales start from Golden Week (GW).
These items are not yet on sale, so please check the start date before visiting. We look forward to welcoming you.

Why not challenge yourself to create a one-of-a-kind piece too?

Featured items: Boys’ Day collection is ready! Disney stock is running low.
━…━…━…━…━…━…━…━…━…━…━
■ Boys’ Day items lined up in the shop! Hariko, chirimen, and Mino Washi products—how about bringing one to your home?
At Ishikawa Mino Washi Paper Goods Workshop, we’ve switched from Hina dolls to a full lineup of Boys’ Day items.
This season’s highlight is, without a doubt, this “kabuto” (samurai helmet)!
A chirimen kabuto display with a gentle light-blue tone that feels calming and warm.
Our products use generous amounts of chirimen fabric and washi paper—lightweight, durable, and long-lasting.
They’re also sized to fit modern homes—easy to display and easy to take home as a Japan travel souvenir.
We also have new hariko items and the “May Tiger.”
Displaying a hariko tiger in May is a traditional lucky charm wishing for boys’ healthy growth and strength.
The tiger symbolizes “strength,” “protection from misfortune,” and “safe growth,”
carrying the wish: “May you grow strong and safely.”
Please come see the real items at Ishikawa Mino Washi Paper Goods Workshop.

■ Disney items: Limited to 30 pieces / while supplies last (no restock planned)
Disney items have joined the Washi Korokoro series.
Their cute round shape pairs perfectly with the gentle texture of Mino Washi—and they’re very popular in-store.
And here is the important notice. This item is:
• Limited to only 30 pieces (ends when sold out)
• While supplies last (no restock planned)
• Orders have already come in, and some characters are already “nearly sold out”
If you’re thinking, “I want this!” please come early.
You can see the actual item in-store and purchase it on the spot.
Perfect for travel memories or gifts.
Come meet the adorable Mickey and friends turned into Washi Korokoro!
If you’re also curious about “Disney and Hina dolls,”
please compare the real items in-store.
Our staff will help you choose the perfect piece.

~~~ Disney introduction text ~~~
A cute, round Mickey Mouse.
The Mino Washi used is a traditional Japanese washi paper with over 1,300 years of history.
The way it rolls and stands back up again and again evokes Mickey’s cheerful “never-give-up” energy.
Mickey’s brightness—bringing smiles across generations—overlaps beautifully with the warmth of washi.
Crafted with techniques handed down at Ishikawa Paper Goods Ltd. since 1902, this is a celebratory item full of good fortune.
• 11 reasons it’s easy to include in group tours: Highlights of Ishikawa Mino Washi Paper Goods Workshop
━…━…━…━…━…━…━…━…━…━…━…
To planners designing packaged tours and group itineraries at travel agencies and tour operators:
“We want a high-satisfaction experience spot that fits into 30–60 minutes between transfers.”
In that case, we recommend Ishikawa Mino Washi Paper Goods Workshop—an easy-to-schedule cultural stop for Japan group tours in Gifu / Mino City.
Here are key reasons why it’s easy to include in Mino City sightseeing and Japan travel itineraries!
1) Large capacity!
[Up to 50 guests per session] × 6 sessions = up to [300 guests per day].
Outside the experience time, it’s easy to combine with “Udatsu historic streets sightseeing” or “Mino Washi Village Hall visit,” thanks to our central location.
2) Flexible duration options!
Choose [30 minutes following the sample] or [45–60 minutes creative course]—adjustable to your itinerary.
With a 15-minute changeover after each session, the next group can start smoothly—great for tour flow.
3) Finished on the spot → take it home immediately!
No waiting time for drying—your piece is completed during the session.
Groups can depart for the next destination on time.
4) Designed so anyone can join easily
Anyone can participate (preschool children can join with a guardian).
Unlimited use of Mino Washi parts—both “sample-style” and “creative” are very popular. It’s a one-of-a-kind craft experience.
5) For travel agencies: R10 return program available
We offer an incentive/return system for travel agencies as a group referral benefit. Please ask us for details.
6) Strong shopping options: direct from the maker!
Over 600 Japanese goods sold in-store.
Plus, **10% OFF for group benefit when total shopping exceeds JPY 1,000**.
7) Excellent access: about 5 minutes from Mino IC
About 5 minutes by car from Mino Interchange on the Tokai-Hokuriku Expressway.
About a 5-minute walk from parking to the shop—simple movement for groups.
8) The venue itself is a sightseeing highlight
Our workshop is inside an Edo-period house.
Located in the center of a tourist area, the moment you step inside, the “special travel feeling” begins.
9) A “Mino Washi” experience that engages all five senses
Touch, cut, and paste—
a program that lets you fully enjoy Japan’s traditional industry, Mino Washi.
10) High-rated reviews for安心 (peace of mind)!
[As of March 2, 2026] Google Reviews: 5.0 / 1,206 reviews (and counting)
11) Free Wi-Fi available
4. Recommended as a hands-on stop for group travel: Create a one-of-a-kind piece at Ishikawa Mino Washi Paper Goods Workshop
━…━…━…━…━…━…━…━…━…━…━…
This is for organizers, planners, and coordinators looking for an activity spot for: elementary/junior high/high school events, kids’ clubs, family trips, PTA trips, company trips, corporate trainings, sports clubs, senior clubs, NPO/volunteer groups, and cultural experience tours—especially those building Japan itineraries and Japan group tours for international travelers.
“We want to give children an experience they can’t do in everyday school life.”
“We want to make fun memories together.”
In those moments, please consider a time where everyone can create, show, and laugh together at Ishikawa Mino Washi Paper Goods Workshop (Ishikawa Paper Goods Ltd.).
Mayu “Mino” Diary: My daughter, born on Hinamatsuri
━…━…━…━…━…━…━…━…━
My daughter’s birthday is on Hinamatsuri (Girls’ Day).
Around this time, cake shops line up with
special Hinamatsuri-only cakes.
Choosing her birthday cake from them is one of my favorite annual joys.
Once, we picked a cake shaped like the Hina dolls themselves.
There was a Hina doll face on top,
and the whole cake was shaped like a kimono, with a gentle peach flavor.
…but my daughter got very upset about eating the “Hina doll face = her face”!
“Don’t bite my face!” she said (laugh).
It looked adorable and felt so spring-like,
and I still remember how delicious it was.
This year, we chose a tart topped generously with strawberries.
(Strawberry tarts might seem classic, but the one we bought is secretly Hinamatsuri-themed.)
Even the time spent choosing from seasonal cakes
feels special—only for someone born on Hinamatsuri.
A precious day once a year.
Feeling grateful that we can celebrate in good health again this year,
we plan to celebrate together as a family.
