Spring Mino Festival & Washi Town|Seasonal Events Overview
━…━…━…━…━…━…━…━…━…━…━…
The Mino Festival, held around the second week of April each year,
is one of the signature spring events in Mino City, Gifu—an excellent addition to Japan travel itineraries.
It is held as the festival of Hachiman Shrine in Mino.
From the first day’s flower mikoshi and impromptu performances,
to the following day’s floats, the historic townscape is beautifully colored by local tradition.
Many visitors come for sightseeing during this season, and the whole town becomes lively with a spring atmosphere.
Because it’s held on the weekend, it’s easy to plan for families and friends,
and many people enjoy it together with a town walk through the Udatsu historic district.
Many guests also enjoy a washi craft experience before or after the festival,
“We could create our piece while still feeling the festival excitement,”
is a comment we often receive.
Because the experience can be enjoyed even in a short time, it’s easy to add to a sightseeing schedule.
Please enjoy a very “spring in Mino” event together with Mino Washi culture—one of Japan’s traditional crafts.

•Group Workshop Guide|No worries even if it’s your “first time.” Here’s how the day flows♪
━…━…━…━…━…━…━…━…━…━…━…
Thankfully, we’re seeing more and more group visits^^
“We’re coming by bus—will we get lost?” “Can first-timers enjoy the workshop smoothly?”
To ease those concerns, we’ll explain the day’s flow in a simple, easy-to-understand way!
1 Arrive at the municipal parking lot (tour buses OK)
Because we don’t have a dedicated parking lot, we kindly ask you to use the municipal parking lot.
If your group calls us 15 minutes before arrival, our staff can welcome you smoothly♪
(For guests who feel uneasy about walking, shuttle support may be possible depending on the situation. Please consult us.)
2 A short town-walk introduction through the Udatsu Historic Townscape
Even the walk from the parking lot to the shop becomes part of the travel memory^^
We’ll highlight key points of the Edo-period streets and “udatsu” features, focusing on the essentials.
3 Arrive at the shop → Seating guidance
Your Mino Washi hands-on crafting starts in an Edo-period building built in 1760!
First, please take a seat and relax for a moment.
4 Fun explanation with a picture-story show♪ (comfortable even for first-timers)
We’ll clearly explain Ishikawa Paper Goods Ltd., Mino Washi, highlights in the shop, and tips for making your piece.
We also provide instructions, so you won’t get lost^^ (Our staff will support you carefully!)
5 Start crafting (approx. 30–45 minutes)
Because you can complete it simply by pasting with glue, it’s enjoyable for a wide range—from age 4 to adults.
You can follow the sample diagram in the kit, or arrange it in your own original way!
Feel free to use our in-store [Mino Washi Yuzen Paper (our original design)] to create a one-of-a-kind piece♪
6 Finished! Take it home on the spot
There’s no long waiting time for drying…
Your completed work can be taken home immediately as a travel souvenir.
7 After the workshop, enjoy shopping in the store♪
With Japanese goods lined up throughout the shop, please enjoy souvenir shopping too♪
As a group benefit, you can also purchase with **10% OFF when your total in-store shopping is JPY 1,000 or more**.
Along with your workshop memory, please take your time choosing souvenirs^^
*If any items are excluded, our staff will inform you on the day.
Create together, show each other, and laugh together—We’ll help you make those fun memories.
Our staff sincerely looks forward to welcoming your group^^

━…━…━…━…━…━…━…━…━…━…━…
• OEM at Ishikawa Paper Goods Ltd.|Turn your character into washi? Cute Washi Korokoro OEM examples♪
━…━…━…━…━…━…━…━…━…━…━…
Ishikawa Paper Goods Ltd. was founded in 1902.
While cherishing the tradition of Mino Washi, we also develop Japanese paper goods and original products—supporting B2B wholesale, private label, and OEM manufacturing for corporate buyers, importers, distributors, museum shops, and gift retailers in Europe & North America.
One of our most popular items is the auspicious roly-poly doll “Washi Korokoro,” which pops back up with a cute wobble♪
In fact, Washi Korokoro has grown beyond a popular workshop item—many original OEM editions have been created at the request of companies and organizations.
Here are some adorable Washi Korokoro pieces born from OEM projects♪
◆ [OEM Example 1] The fun of lining up “character-accurate” designs: “Hanawa-kun & Noguchi-san Washi Korokoro”
This is an OEM example where highly distinctive characters were productized as Washi Korokoro while respecting the world-building of the original work.
Because they’re easy to display together, “collectability” naturally grows, making them perfect for multi-SKU merchandising. This is an OEM example that turns fans’ “I want to collect them” into a real product line.
https://www.ishikawa-shigyo.com/news/detail_1801_0_0.html

◆ [OEM Example 2] For a 70th anniversary—go beyond the logo and make the “product itself”|Sanshin Filtration Equipment commemorative OEM
This OEM example turned the company’s actual product into a 3D Washi Korokoro as an anniversary commemorative gift.
Because it captures not only a logo but the “symbol of the business,” it tends to leave a strong impression when distributed internally and externally.
It’s a great example for trade show giveaways, milestone anniversaries, and stakeholder gifts—especially for corporate buyers looking for Made-in-Japan, story-rich novelty items.
https://www.ishikawa-shigyo.com/news/detail_1776.html

◆ [OEM Example 3] A university mascot becomes Washi Korokoro: “Tokyo University of Foreign Studies ‘Tobita-kun’”
This OEM example produced the Tokyo University of Foreign Studies mascot “Tobita-kun” as Washi Korokoro.
Because you can express a school’s unique identity in a cute form, it works well for open campus events, graduation gifts, school festivals, and donor thank-you gifts.
A helpful reference for educational institutions planning original commemorative goods.
