We are a designated property within the Nationally Selected Important Preservation District for Groups of Traditional Buildings, in the historic Udatsu townscape.
Come make Mino-Washi crafts together inside an Edo-period building (built in 1760) featuring an authentic “udatsu” firewall.
From solo travelers to groups up to 45 people (about one full tour bus) can enjoy the workshop at the same time.
(For groups over 45, we recommend splitting into a craft workshop team and a town-stroll & shopping team.)

For Groups: Corporate Training Full of Smiles—A Day of Team Bonding with Mino-Washi Crafts

Recently, through a travel agency partnering with us for the first time,
a corporate training group visited our shop.
Their coordinator had long heard our shop was highly rated
and had been keen to book. We were thrilled it finally came true.
Guests arrived a bit tired after two full days of training,
but once the workshop began, the atmosphere instantly brightened.
The day’s menu featured our hit “Washi Korokoro” series.
Participants chose from three warlords—Oda Nobunaga, Toyotomi Hideyoshi, Tokugawa Ieyasu—and the princess Kicho.
“I’ll try the princess,” “I’m going for Nobunaga”—laughter bubbled up even at the selection stage.
Once crafting started, creativity took off.
One memorable idea was using cotton swabs as-is to complete a unique design—
“What if we try this?” As hands moved, unexpected ideas took shape one after another.
Before we knew it, a lineup of richly individual works appeared:
Nobunaga with alien legs, Ieyasu with a (pretend) cigarette,
a quirky crowned Nobunaga, a sunglasses-wearing Kicho—
a time filled with free ideas and laughter.
Of course, many elegant, traditional “classic-style” pieces were completed as well.
Even with the same materials, the finish is different for everyone—
that’s the biggest charm of the Washi Korokoro experience.
By the end, the arrival fatigue had vanished.
“Look at mine!” “Let’s take a photo!”—smiles spread everywhere
as teammates showed off their creations together.
This hands-on making naturally brought everyone closer—
a warm, team-building time.

The building, constructed in 1760, is a designated property within Japan’s Important Preservation District for Groups of Traditional Buildings—an Edo-period house lovingly renovated to welcome you.
Inside, we’ve set up world and Japan maps where visitors place a sticker on their place of origin.
As stickers grow, you can see at a glance how far our Mino-Washi experience has spread.

Mayu “Mino” Diary — A moving day traveling through space at the USA Pavilion with my daughter: the World Expo’s immersive visuals were incredible.

We visited the USA Pavilion at the Osaka–Kansai Expo—
a memorable day where parent and child could “feel the future.”
The Osaka–Kansai Expo is nearing its finale.
I was lucky enough to visit twice.
The USA Pavilion stood out most.
Amid crowds of over 200,000 visitors, we were fortunate to get in.
While waiting in a long line, I was glad I brought a folding stool—
it made the wait much easier, and many others had the same idea.
We weren’t bored during the wait.
A giant screen introduced destinations across the United States.
I’ve never been to the U.S., so the urban skylines and wild nature felt fresh and inspiring.
The scale—both city and countryside—was breathtaking.
Finally, we entered the pavilion.
Animated hosts filled the screen, introducing American history and culture in a fun way.
My daughter’s eyes sparkled—“So cute!”—she loved it.
The most spectacular moment was the rocket launch scene,
projected on a towering screen as if we ourselves were blasting into space.
The zero-gravity sequence felt so real we almost floated—my daughter was thrilled.
After that we visited the Moon rock display.
We’d imagined something huge, so we were surprised to find it smaller than expected—
we even blurted out, “Wait, that’s it?”—a fun memory in itself.
That day we also toured the Vietnam, Australia, Nordic, Sumitomo Forestry, and Pasona pavilions.
Each featured stunning visual production—like stepping into a movie.
It was a whirlwind day of laughter and surprises with my daughter,
experiencing cutting-edge visual technology and imaginative design from around the world.
A day at the Expo where we felt the future together—
a truly special place where global excitement gathers.
