〇Collaboration with Gifu Prefectural Gifu High School

The 6th RealBiz High School Mock Startup Grand Prix “Waka-sen (Washi Fragrance Fan)”

Outstanding achievements by Gifu Prefectural Gifu High School’s team 【Sense☆Ii-ne】!

Won a National Silver Award!

At RealBiz (https://reabiz.jp), a high school mock entrepreneurship grand prix, the six-student company 【Sense☆Ii-ne】 from Gifu Prefectural Gifu High School was selected as one of eight teams nationwide. Using hand-dyed Mino Washi folding fans, they developed a product called 【Waka-sen】 and carried out consignment sales, online sales, and face-to-face sales—traveling three hours one way—and achieved a complete sell-out. A results presentation was held in Tokyo on December 21, where they earned a Silver Award. Judges praised the project highly as a first-ever RealBiz challenge into a higher price range, demonstrating premium Japanese craftsmanship and strong market positioning. What began with the emotional impact of experiencing Mino Tesuki Washi (handmade washi) in elementary school became a real product—and their initiative brought a bright future and renewed hope to Japan’s traditional industries and the Japanese souvenir & gift market, including opportunities for B2B wholesale and overseas distribution.

〇Exchange with Gifu Prefectural Seki High School

Gifu Prefectural Seki High School

International exchange through Washi Korokoro! Pre-departure training for Vietnam overseas program!

Gifu Prefectural Seki High School is working on exchange activities with Vietnam, aiming to develop talent capable of succeeding across multiple fields. As part of this initiative, they planned a Japanese culture introduction and workshop, and a program will be carried out to deepen exchange through our hands-on “Washi Korokoro” craft experience. Prior to the local exchange overseas, they requested support from our company—manufacturer of Mino Washi Japanese goods—to help students deepen their understanding of Mino City and Mino Washi, and we held a pre-training session and workshop. We sincerely hope this initiative leads to a brighter future and contributes to international understanding and peace.

〇Mino Tesuki Washi product development begins

The 1st Mino Washi Information Exchange Meeting

Mino Tesuki Washi Studios × Ishikawa Shigyo

Mino Tesuki Washi product development begins!

Ishikawa Shigyo Co., Ltd. participates in the “Mino Washi Brand Value Enhancement Study Group” as one of the representative companies from the processing industry. Mino Washi is broadly divided into three categories: Hon-Mino-shi (authentic handmade paper), Mino Tesuki Washi (handmade washi), and Mino machine-made washi. Hon-Mino-shi and Mino Tesuki Washi are created by artisans using the traditional “nagashi-suki” papermaking technique. This time, artisans and processing businesses gathered together for an exchange meeting to share mutual needs. The Mino Tesuki Washi crafted by these artisans is truly captivating. Through this exchange, we decided to launch new Mino Tesuki Washi product development. Accessories such as brooches and earrings using studio-specific Mino Tesuki Washi, along with items like magnets and bookmarks, are scheduled to go on sale from spring—supporting retailers, museum shops, and importers seeking authentic Japanese craft gifts and Japan-made stationery.
