Thank you for your continued support. I’m Yamashita, the newsletter editor.
The other day, a friend invited me to play badminton. I was so excited that I messaged them a full week in advance.
I casually texted, “Can’t wait for the 21st~,”
and they replied, “What are you talking about? Badminton is tomorrow.”
...I panicked. This friend is usually the reliable one. “No way,” I thought - but when I checked my calendar, it clearly said the 21st. The messages also said the 21st.
“This is it!!
Someone messed up!!!”
As the person who always messes up, I put myself on the shelf and ran to buy sports shoes. After all, I had cleared the next day specifically to buy a racket and shoes. Nice one, Yamashita.
Luckily the meetup was at noon, so I made it. They said rackets were available to borrow, so I did. Then I found out there was also a session on the 21st...Nobody told me. And I still didn’t even know who the members were, or what kind of group it was...Nobody told me.
So on the day, I asked.
Is it a club? Or a working adults group? ...Wait, no? You don’t know? You’re going to that kind of group? Honestly, people might call it a suspicious gathering - and I wouldn’t blame them.
Also, I heard it was until 4:30 pm, but it’s 9:30 pm? What? I thought it started at 1:30 pm? Do you need a lesson in counting numbers?
This isn’t a rakugo “Tokisoba” story. Anyway, exercise and spending should both be in moderation. I’m suffering with muscle pain.
