・Summer in Mino City: Enjoy ayu (sweetfish) cuisine and crystal-clear rivers - a seasonal Japan travel idea

━…━…━…━…━…━…━…━…━…━…━…

Now is the perfect time to plan spring trips - and preview your summer itinerary too♪

When you think of summer in Mino, you think of ayu (sweetfish) cuisine.

At riverside “yaki” fishing spots and local restaurants such as Waka Chaya, you can enjoy seasonal ayu in many styles.

After savoring the river’s bounty, we also recommend strolling the historic townscape and experiencing Mino’s washi culture.

At Ishikawa Mino Washi Paper Goods Workshop (Ishikawa Paper Goods Ltd.), you can enjoy the texture, colors, and patterns of authentic Mino washi paper while creating a one-of-a-kind souvenir. It is a great fit for Japan group tours, coach tours, educational trips, and inbound travel itineraries, and you can take your finished craft home the same day.

Mino City tourism is special because you can enjoy local food culture and traditional crafts in one trip.

For your summer travel memories, add a Mino washi craft workshop to your itinerary.

Group Workshop Guide: “First time” is totally OK. Here is how your visit flows♪

━…━…━…━…━…━…━…━…━…━…━…

Thankfully, we are welcoming more and more group visitors^^

“We are coming by bus - will we get lost?” “Can we enjoy the workshop smoothly even if it’s our first time?”

To ease those concerns, here is a simple, clear overview of the day’s flow!

1) Arrive at the municipal parking lot (tour buses OK)

We do not have a private parking lot, so we kindly ask guests to use the municipal parking lot.

For groups, if you call us 15 minutes before arrival, our staff can welcome you smoothly♪

(If some guests have mobility concerns, we may be able to assist with pick-up depending on the situation. Please contact us.)

2) A quick guided walk through the Udatsu historic streets

Even the walk from the parking lot to the shop becomes part of your Japan travel memories^^

We will highlight key points of the Edo-period townscape and “udatsu” features, in a short and easy-to-follow way.

3) Arrive at the shop → We guide you to your seats

Your Mino washi hands-on experience begins in an Edo-period building originally built in 1760!

First, take your seat and relax for a moment.

4) Easy explanation with a picture-story show♪ (Great for first-timers)

We explain Ishikawa Paper Goods Ltd., Mino washi, highlights inside the shop, and tips for making your craft in a simple way.

We also provide instructions, so you won’t feel lost^^ (Our staff will support you carefully!)

5) Start crafting (about 30-45 minutes)

Because you can finish just by pasting pieces with glue, it’s enjoyable for a wide range of ages, from 4 years old to adults.

You can follow the sample diagram in the kit, or customize it into your own original design!

Feel free to use our in-store selection of [Mino Washi Yuzen Paper (our original designs)] to create something truly one of a kind♪

6) Finished! Take it home right away

No long waiting time for drying…

You can take your finished piece home immediately as a travel souvenir.

7) After the workshop, enjoy shopping in the store♪

With Japanese souvenirs and paper goods lining the shelves, please enjoy finding the perfect gift♪

As a group benefit, you can also purchase [10% OFF when your in-store total is 1,000 yen or more].

Please take your time choosing souvenirs along with your workshop memories^^

*If some items are excluded, our staff will explain on the day.

Create together, show each other, and share laughs! We love helping groups make joyful memories.

We look forward to welcoming your group - travel agencies, tour operators, schools, and corporate outings are all welcome^^

Ishikawa Paper Goods Ltd. OEM: Turn your character into washi! Cute Washi Korokoro production examples♪

━…━…━…━…━…━…━…━…━…━…━…

Ishikawa Paper Goods Ltd. was founded in 1902.

While honoring the tradition of Mino washi, we develop Japanese paper goods and original products.

One of our most popular items is the lucky roly-poly figurine “Washi Korokoro” that gently pops back up.

In fact, Washi Korokoro is not only a popular workshop project. Through requests from companies and organizations, many original OEM creations have also been born.

Here are some cute Washi Korokoro items created through OEM collaborations♪

◆ [OEM Example 1] A must-have fans want to pick up: Rurouni Kenshin “Washi Korokoro - Rurouni Kenshin”

This OEM example preserves the world of a popular series while finishing it with the gentle texture of Mino washi.

Without losing the character’s features, we commercialized it with washi warmth and a friendly, giftable form.

It is also an easy-to-deploy example of licensed character-goods OEM for fans in Japan and overseas, as well as Japan culture souvenirs for inbound tourism.

◆ [OEM Example 2] A local mascot becomes Washi Korokoro♪ Minobu Town “Mino-wan”

Minobu Town’s official character “Mino-wan” was created as a Mino washi roly-poly figurine, “Washi Korokoro”.

It is a lucky charm with a cute, rounded form and the gentle texture unique to washi paper.

It is used for regional PR and event commemorations, and we often hear: “I didn’t know it could become this kind of product!”

While valuing the charm of your character, we help you create a one-of-a-kind original design.

◆ [OEM Example 3] A world-famous character becomes a washi doll!

Official Disney license: “Washi Korokoro Mickey”

This is an OEM example produced as a Mino washi roly-poly figurine under official Disney supervision. We highlighted the character’s appeal while finishing it with a warm washi texture and a lucky-charm form. It is a representative example of licensed OEM that can be developed as fan merchandise worldwide and as gifts / tourism souvenirs that evoke Japanese culture.
