Our shop is a hands-on Mino Washi craft experience where you can “touch, choose, and create” with authentic Japanese washi paper.
While discovering the charm and tradition of Mino Washi, you can make one-of-a-kind dolls and Japanese souvenirs to take home.
From the texture of washi to the joy of selecting colors and patterns—and the fun of expressing your own style—this is a five-senses Japanese cultural experience that’s perfect for travelers and group tours.
The workshop is located in the heart of Mino’s historic district, “Udatsu no Agaru Machinami” (the Udatsu townscape).
You can enjoy the experience inside an Edo-period building featuring an “udatsu” from 1760, designated as a protected historic property in a nationally selected Preservation District for Groups of Traditional Buildings.
From solo travelers to up to 50 guests at the same time (about one tour bus), we can accommodate a wide range of group sizes.
For groups over 50, we recommend splitting into a “Mino City stroll & shopping” group and a “craft experience” group for a smooth schedule.
Couples, friends, families, group travel, company trips, and incentive tours—everyone can share a fun time together.
Experience menus include Washi Korokoro, washi fans (uchiwa), washi earrings, washi plates, washi pen holders, washi bookmarks, and more.
You can follow the sample exactly—totally OK.
You can also arrange it intuitively—also OK.
Or you can create it in the style of your favorite vibe or character—also OK.
Why not make a one-and-only souvenir that exists nowhere else in the world?
We offer 30+ kit designs—so you’re sure to find something you’ll want to make.
Please check our opening schedule and come visit us. We look forward to seeing you.
For reservations of 10 or more guests, we can also accommodate you outside business hours.Please ask us!

This Week at the Workshop | A Soaring Pegasus & Smiles from Around the World
━…━…━…━…━…━…━…━…━…━…━
This week as well, we are welcoming group guests visiting from overseas.
We heard that some tour groups visit us as their very first stop after arriving in Japan.
We are truly happy that you chose our workshop as your first Japan cultural experience.
Everyone has been trying the Washi Korokoro “Zodiac of the Year: Horse.”
The Horse zodiac kit is designed with fewer steps, so even first-time participants can finish smoothly.
At the workshop, you can freely use our Mino Washi Yuzen-dyed paper.
By choosing colors and patterns and arranging the design as you like, each person creates a unique piece—even with the same kit, the expressions turn out completely different.
The most popular arrangement among this group was the “Pegasus.”
We also heard there is a similar expression in Taiwanese language for “Pegasus (Tenma),” and everyone enjoyed making it with familiarity.
Some added just a little glue to the wing base so it flaps when you shake it,
others attached the wings on the sides for a folded-wing look, or added a crown, sword, and wings to create a “battle horse”…
Our staff couldn’t help but be amazed by everyone’s creative ideas.

Tours may be made up of separate family groups, but somehow a sense of togetherness naturally forms, and smiles spread throughout the room.
Would you like to challenge yourself to create a truly one-of-a-kind piece?

~~~ Disney introduction text ~~~
A round, roly-poly Mickey Mouse.
The Mino Washi used as the material is a traditional Japanese paper with over 1,300 years of history.
Mickey’s ability to roll over and pop back up again reminds us of his energetic spirit.
The brightness of Mickey Mouse, who has brought smiles across generations, overlaps with the warmth of washi.
This auspicious item is made with the techniques handed down at Ishikawa Paper Goods Ltd., founded in 1902.
・Mayu “Mino” Diary | The Olympics and My Snowboarding Memories
━…━…━…━…━…━…━…━…━
Recently, I’ve been watching the Olympic snowboarding events closely.
Especially the Big Air competition—it brought back memories of my youth.
That moment when you launch off a huge kicker and land a spin or a grab in the air.
As someone who used to snowboard, I can’t help watching from a technical perspective.
For me, even “jumping” was more like “takeoff + grab” at most.
I practiced trying to cleanly land an Indy grab or a Melancholy, but
honestly, I can’t even imagine the sensation of spinning around in the air like Olympic athletes.
When I asked people who could spin what it feels like, they said things like “You can tell from the scenery” or “Your body remembers,”
which made zero sense to me (lol).
“Bend your knees more,” “pull your body in,” “make a solid pop”—
Even with advice like that, I understood it in my head, but my body couldn’t keep up.
But truly skilled people can adjust their next jump with just one short comment.
Every time I saw that, I felt the difference in training volume and composure.
That’s why when I watch Olympic Big Air,
I imagine not only the flashy tricks, but also the effort and accumulation behind them.
What especially stayed with me this time were the athletes’ comments after the competition.
To be honest, I’ve never stood on such a huge stage, so I can’t truly understand that tension and frustration.
But because I’ve snowboarded before,
I can picture what the athletes mean and what they’re going through.
Like, “Ah, that mistake probably means this,” or
“Conditions must have been tough.”
Timing, snow quality, wind, physical condition—results can change with the slightest difference.
There’s also luck involved, so there are parts you can’t measure only by the result.
One young athlete said, “I understand what the failure means. I want to connect it to the next one,”
and also, “I challenged with the trick I wanted, not a safer one.”
They’re around 20 years old, yet that calmness and determination.
I truly thought it was amazing.
For me too, the accumulation of failures and trial-and-error on the mountain has become confidence when I look back.
Snowboarding is one example for me, but
I’m sure many of you have an experience where you poured passion into something.
Even if the form changes, those times and experiences become something that supports you somewhere, don’t they?
Actually, I already tuned up my board this season and I’m fully ready.
All that’s left is to make time to go ride… but now that’s the hardest part (lol).
If you drive north from Mino, Gifu, you reach snowy mountain areas.
Watching on TV is fun, but the sensation of gliding on snow is something special.
Winter still continues.
While cherishing the excitement of Olympic viewing and my snow mountain memories,
I’d like to enjoy this season^^
