Ishikawa Paper Goods Ltd. was founded in 1902 (Meiji 35) in Mino City, Gifu Prefecture, Japan, a renowned production area of Mino Washi. Our Mino Washi paper goods and Japanese craft gifts are manufactured, wholesaled, and distributed through our in-house craftsmanship philosophy of “Washi-ya no Te-shigoto” (handcrafted by a washi maker). We bring entertainment into traditional Japanese crafts while planning, developing, manufacturing, and selling. We also hold the No.1 (and world-leading) number of Mino Washi brand certifications.

The beanbag the stork is riding is made of chirimen fabric.

In addition, aroma essential oil and a special ceramic ball are included (provided by the client).

What is “Sarubobo”? ↓

Sarubobo is a traditional folk doll from the Hida Takayama area of Gifu Prefecture, Japan. The word combines “saru” (monkey) and the local dialect “bobo,” meaning baby. Resembling a baby monkey, it has long been handmade by mothers and grandmothers and given to daughters and grandchildren as a lucky charm wishing for safe childbirth, children, good relationships, protection from misfortune, and family harmony. Red is the most common color, but in recent years different colors have also been associated with meanings such as financial luck and health, making Sarubobo a beloved Japanese souvenir as well.
