 o Recommended highlights!

The Mino Washi used as the material has a traditional history of over 1,300 years.

No matter how many times it falls, it pops right back up—evoking Mickey’s upbeat spirit. The brightness of Mickey Mouse, who has brought smiles across generations, overlaps with the warm, gentle feel of Washi. Crafted with techniques handed down at Ishikawa Paper Goods Ltd. since 1902, this is a truly celebratory item—an authentic Japanese cultural gift and a memorable Japan souvenir for overseas visitors and travel retail.

What is Sarubobo...? ▼

Sarubobo is a doll motif based on a monkey, traditionally made in the Hida region of Gifu Prefecture.

In the Hida dialect, “saru” means monkey and “bobo” means baby; it was named because it resembles a baby monkey.

It is said to have started as a handmade charm created by mothers wishing for their daughters’ and grandchildren’s healthy growth, good matches, safe childbirth, and marital harmony.

Today, it is widely known as a souvenir.
